Christmas Event for Orphanage (Tabanan)

Let’s bring the spirit of Christmas to life!
We are excited to host a special Christmas event at Yayasan Cornelia Elshaddai in Tabanan on Saturday, December 21, 2024. This event is an opportunity to share love, joy, and blessings with 51 children and young adults, as well as 6 staff members, while also providing meaningful support to help them grow and thrive in the future.

Event Overview

This Christmas event is about more than celebration—it’s about creating a lasting impact. With workshops, games, gifts, and shared meals, we aim to make this day unforgettable and impactful for everyone at the orphanage.

• Time: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

• Location: Yayasan Cornelia Elshaddai, Tabanan

Why We Need Your Help

1. Workshop for Teenagers and Young Adults (25 participants):

The workshop focuses on recognizing their potential and providing guidance for education and careers.

• What we’ll do:

  • Conduct assessments to understand their interests, abilities, and aspirations.

  • Provide personalized consultations to help them plan their next steps in education or employment.

  • Begin exploring ways to support them in integrating into the workforce down the road.

• Volunteers Needed:

  • 1 adult per small group to guide and oversee the assessments (3-4 participants at a time).

  • 4-5 volunteers to assist with consulting and mentoring.

This is one of the most crucial aspects of the event, as it aims to empower young adults with practical tools and advice for their futures.

2. Fun Activities for Younger Children (26 participants, ages 18 and under):

While the workshop is happening, we’ll ensure the younger children are engaged in a fun and festive environment.

• What we’ll do:

  • Organize games, crafts, and interactive activities.

  • Create a joyful space where kids can have fun while building teamwork and creativity.

• Volunteers Needed:

  • 5-7 volunteers to lead and organize activities for kids.

How to Get There

Yayasan Cornelia Elshaddai is located about 35-40 minutes’ bike ride from the center of Canggu.

• By Car: Some volunteers are driving and may have space in their vehicles. Coordinate in the group chat to arrange carpooling.

• By Bike: Other volunteers may have space on the back of their bikes. Feel free to connect with them in the group chat for a ride.

Event Schedule

• Afternoon (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM): Shared lunch with the children and staff.

• Afternoon Session (1:30 PM - 4:00 PM):

  • Micro-Business Workshop: Focused on teens and young adults (ages 13-18).

  • Games and Crafts: Fun activities for younger children.

• Evening (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM): Fellowship, prayer, praise, and a brief Bible reading.

• Evening (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM): Distribution of Christmas gifts to all children.

• Dinner (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM): Closing with a warm and delicious meal.

How You Can Help

Volunteers

We need 10-12 volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly.

• 4-5 volunteers: Focused on teens and young adults (guiding, consulting, and mentoring).

• 5-7 volunteers: Focused on engaging younger children with games and crafts.

Cooking Volunteers:
We already have 2 girls helping with cooking preparations on December 20-21. We are still looking for 1 more girl to assist. Accommodation will be provided in Tabanan, shared with the other two girls.

Donations Needed

We are also seeking donations to:

• Provide delicious meals for approximately 67 people (51 children and young adults, 6 staff members, and 10 volunteers).

• Purchase gifts, games, and snacks to create a rewarding Christmas experience.

Yayasan Cornelia Elshaddai is home to 51 children and young adults, with diverse backgrounds. Some children are blind, and others have special needs. The foundation provides care, education, and support to help these children thrive in a nurturing environment.
